Puppy Meeting & Happy Vesak Day

This afternoon we’re going to visit a potential sister for Waylon. Both The Cop and I agree that any bulldog girl who’s going to grow up to weigh 100 pounds ought to have a super feminine name. I mean, the incongruity is too tempting, don’t you think? If you want to leave a suggestion in the comments, feel free. I keep thinking of flower names, like Lily or Violet. :-)

And Happy Vesak Day to all! Vesak Day commemorates The Buddha’s birth, enlightment, and passing.

P.S. Does a dog have Buddha nature?

  1. Daisy :-)

  2. Daisy! Definitely worth considering! So cute.

  3. I was going to say Daisy…

  4. I’ve heard pets respond better to names ending in a “y” sound… not sure if it’s true, but it’s more fun to draw out the name when you’re calling…. “Daisyyyyyyyyyy” or “Lillyyyyyyyy”

I like them all. Try them with “Waylon and ….” and see what sounds good! ha ha!!

  5. I also thought of Jessie, ’cause of Waylon Jennings and Jessie Coulter.

  6. Super Jealous that you are looking at another furry family member. Mrs. Chai needs a brother or sister…but we just can’t afford a new baby yet. The pictures of the pups you are posting make me smile!!
    Also, Happy Vesak- Buddha Day~

  7. Oh. My. God.

She is so beautiful. I think I have a bulldog shaped hole in my life. I like Daisy and Lily. My dog was Dolly Parton, and she seemed to like that name.

  8. She is an utter gem. We met her and adore her. The breeder is deciding whether he wants to keep her, so we have to wait a few weeks on his decision. He will have another litter this summer, so if we don’t get her, there will be other pups to meet.

What I loved about her was that all you have to do is roll her over and rub her tummy and she falls fast asleep. :-)

The first thing I ever saw on your website, Stan, was the header pic of Dolly. I instantly fell in love with her smile. If you ever notice on your stats that someone is compulsively refreshing your home page, that’s me trying to make her picture come up.

  9. Rolling over and falling asleep? Heaven. I really hope you get to adopt her.

Yer funny! Dolly became more and more of a sea mammal in her senior years. I’m a bit obsessed with that picture too because I think she looks like a seal and it cracks me up.

  10. Karen, she’s so cute! I hope the breeder will part with her.

Your live traffic feed widget puts me in Sainte-Gregoire-en-Valdaine, in the Rhône-Alpes this morning. I’m often interested to see where it sends me. I read you from home in Colognac loin-de-là.

BTW, review your Hinduism for Dummies, yeah? I need to start from scratch as well.
