Nice hotel in central London?

I know it’s late over there, but any of you Londoners want to suggest a nice hotel in central London? We need a place that’s got a fancy/comfy enough lobby for us to meet with/entertain executives. Thoughts?

  1. Are you not staying where you said anymore, or is it for a colleague? I know a nice one in High Holborn near the station, the east side of central and quick commute to the shala… would have to check the name tomorrow though. Otherwise I’m not too clued up on the fancy hotels…. apart from the REALLY swish ones we sometimes get to go to for broker dos :)

  2. I’m still where I told you. We just need a central location with a good place to chat with people who are coming into town to meet with us.

  3. It’s a little expensive but the Hilton Paddington is highly convenient. Second would be the Hilton Metropole.

  4. Thanks, Ganesha! I’ll check those out.

  5. Langham Hilton near Oxford Circus is good. Would get you straight to the shala in Bethnal Green and/or there’s the ‘other’ shala to visit as well just 5 mins away, :-)

  6. God, you people stay up late!

AC, will you join us Sunday (the 15th) after practice?

  7. Ganesha, you in the city? Yogi-meet on Sunday!

  8. The Covent Garden Hotel on Charlotte St is nice if you want something a little more traditional, it’s quite quiet. For funky try The Sanderson on Berners St, just North of Oxford Circus, their bar is pretty hught. Or Claridges on Brooke St if you are nearer Mayfair and want a classic. I agree with Susan’s choice too, The Chancery Court Hotel, we often take clients there…. So many lovely places to choose from.

  9. The ‘other’ shala has a name. AYL. But I’m sure Karen already knows that ;)

  10. Karen, yes I’ll be making effort to join on 15th after practice.

  11. Oh, the ‘other’ shala I was talking about was TriYoga Soho with Philippa, :-)

  12. See? Best to name them.

  13. hi Karen

    hugs

  14. We’re going to go with Chancery Court. Thanks, everyone! People here at work are all amazed about how responsive the cybershala is — and what good taste you have in hotel accommodations. :-)

  15. Oh good! I’ve been for drinks in the lobby and it’s lovely :)
