This is a great article! A challenge to employ this level of therapy, as I see it is to have access to the sheer number of props that are needed. It's also such a one-on-one practice, more like physical therapy. But with so much more attention then I ever received in my experiences with PT. Years ago I attended a number of prop-heavy Iyengar classes and was sort of amazed at how much time it took to actually get into the postures. Now, years later, I have a much greater appreciation for the use of props in therapeutic and restorative practices

I, also, am only on my first reading and will certainly be spending more time with it. Funny that one of the authors is named Kimberly Williams. Certainly a different one than the ashtanga instructor, no?

Kai, those hanging yoga "gyms" are all the rage. It's sorta like a rope wall....but without the wall. Check out "yoga swing" on YouTube.

Thanks for the posting!

I love the photo of the woman with her legs tied up with a kazillion straps. She looks like a mermaid (or maybe a mummy). Hope she doesn't need to go anyplace quickly. Wouldn't it be a bummer if the fire alarm went off? ;-) Ditto for the woman with the heavy weights on her bum!

Speaking of props, have you seen this? http://omgym.com/

I totally know what *I'm* going to ask Santa for Christmas. Looks like so much fun!
