Wall dropback
Posted in ashtanga yoga on 07/21/2008 07:28 am by karenNice practice this morning. Happy to be back to the home schedule. Well, maybe except for the part about having to go into the office in an hour.
Here’s a clip of one of the wall dropbacks I’ve been talking about. Need to get more hang time with the arms extended and need to slow down the momentum of the return, but you get the idea.

Karen -
I was out of town (a must-attend family reunion) and had to miss all but the last afternoon of MS. I thought that was you backlit way down at the end, but you left before I got a chance to say hello. So Hello. I’m glad you had a great week at Yoga House. And thank you (and Patrick) so much for recapping the events I sadly had to miss.

Hi Carol! I looked for you the first few sessions, then figured you weren’t going to be around. Sorry I missed you on Thursday.
The workshop was great — wish you could have made it. I enjoyed my trip to MN, and what a lovely town Edina is.

Am I the only one not getting it to play?
The still is pretty great, actually.

Hmmm. Not sure what happened there. Just reposted…
LOL! Moni, wallbacks is a great term! That’s what I’ll call them from now on.

Hm, I can’t get it to play, either.

I got it to play but I had to sit and stare at it for a while. Thank you so much for your MS workshop details. Lots of good stuff in there! And sounds like you had a great time too. Still lovin’ The Cop.

I don’t understand why you don’t just drop back onto the floor – you are SO READY. Instead of dropping back with your hands in prayer, simply stretch your arms up and overhead, and drop back and land on your hands. You are READY!! Do it!!! And show us!!

Hey, sorry I’m so late here. I loved your descriptions of the workshop, thanks.
Regarding this video, it looks like you could be considerably closer to the wall?

What difference do you think it’d make, to be closer, Susananda?
I was happy to write about the workshop. I really enjoyed it.

Cool. Do you think you could do this w/ the kapotasana exercise? Visuals really help me. Thanks! (And if you can’t, no problem. I just thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask!) By the way, I LOVE the in-depth posts about the MS workshop. I want to study w/ him now.
