Damn science

The coffee experiment has been totally mucked up by a cold. At least that’s what I think it is. It made me cranky and sleepy all day yesterday. Managed to motivate myself enough to make and drink a bunch of ginger tea. Missed a get-together at Volleyball Guy’s house (sorry, Sanskrit Scholar, but I didn’t want to make the baby sick!). Co-opted the neti pot (The Cop is a true practitioner; I turn to it in times of need).

Practice this morning was sun salutations with sinus throb on the head-lowering portions. Did a handful, then crawled back into bed with The Cop and The Dog for an extra hour’s sleep. Is there a practice for when one is feeling quite low on energy? I feel like some practice would be good for me, but I had no gas for primary series.

Is this because I haven’t had any caffeine for the past few days? No idea. Am I sick because I quit coffee? Well, probably not. Fun to think of, though ;-)

Usually I’d barrel through any illness, but this weekend is the workshop with Richard Freeman in Tucson, so I want to look after myself and make sure I’m in good shape for that. The following weekend, Volleyball Guy is doing a second series workshop, and the weekend after that (I just found out about 5 minutes ago) I have to go to NYC for work. Hmmmm, I wonder if I’ll have time to hit a NY shala while I’m there…
